Notification of Conference Preparation Source：CAC Author： Time：2007-04-27 Now the preparation for the joint conference between ICA and CAC is in progress. Under the theme of “Harmonious Society, Civil Society and the Media”, we have already received lots of papers and panel proposals with high-quality from scholars home and abroad. At the same time, the hotel has been decided. Now, we’d like to notify the specifics of conference preparation as follows:   1. Calling for Papers   Up to the late March 2007, the organizing committee of the conference has received 168 paper abstracts, consisting of 90 Chinese and 78 English paper abstracts; And 11 panel proposals, including 3 Chinese proposals and 8 English ones.   Among them, the ICA academic committee has examined and appraised all the English paper abstracts and panel proposals. 50 paper abstracts and 6 panel proposals were accepted, and the letters of acceptance were sent. Because overseas experts and scholars need to process visas and other things, this year’s overseas paper calling has ended.   At the same time, the mailbox of the conference still keeps opening to Chinese experts, scholars and students. You could send your paper abstracts (or the full paper) and panel proposals to the committee mailbox (paper2007@cuc.edu.cn). The closing date for contribution is June 1st, 2007. We will invite well-known Chinese scholars home and abroad to form the Chinese academic committee who will review Chinese paper abstracts and panel proposals anonymously, and confirm Chinese accepting papers and the attending list.   2. Logistic Preparation   The conference will be held in Beijing Xinhaijinjiang Hotel. Xinhaijinjiang Hotel is a Five-Star hotel, located in No.61, Jinbao Street, Beijing, 2 kilometers far from Wangfujing Commercial District, about 1 kilometer from Beijing Railway Station, and about 600 meters from the closest shuttle bus station (Beijing Railway Station-International Hotel) of the Capital Airport. A series of agreements have been reached with the hotel about the places, equipments, dinners, and services of the conference.   The attending delegatesfrom the places out of Beijing need to arrange their accommodation by themselves. After the negotiation between our organizing committee and Xinhaijinjiang Hotel, the hotel will offer the conference delegates with 50% discount. The discount price for standard rooms is 1000 yuan per day (including breakfasts).
