Microsoft is to unveil software designed to challenge Apple’s tablet dominance, according to reports.
The company is to release a trial version of operating system Windows 8, which has been developed with two interfaces, one similar to a desktop PC, and the other touch-screen based, similar to Windows software on smartphones, according to the Financial Times.
The software combines aspects of both PC and tablet in a move aimed at bridging the gap between the tablet and the traditional PC.
It is to be revealed tomorrow at a Microsoft conference for software developers in the US.
