One in four mobile users (55m people) used their mobile phones for social networking in September 2011, with almost 26m doing so each day, according to a report from ComScore.
While most mobile users accessed social networking sites via a mobile browser (31.3m), the number of people using mobile apps doubled from the previous year to 24.2m, according to the study.The research firm’s MobiLens study, which surveys mobile users from across Europe’s five-largest markets, revealed that social networking grew by 44% in popularity in the 12 months to September.
