The Guardian’s iPad app has been downloaded over 500,000 times since launching in October last year.
The announcement was made via a post on the newspaper’s website which also revealed that from tomorrow (7 January ) its iPad app will also include the Guardian Weekend magazine.
The post also notes that the Guardian’s iPad app was downloaded 23,000 times on Christmas Day alone.
The milestone represents a massive surge in demand for the Guardian’s iPad app although it has yet to implement its £9.99 per month subscription fee after it struck a three-month sponsorship deal with Channel 4 giving users free access to the app’s content until 13 January .
