Microsoft is inviting UK marketers and agencies to enter a global creative storytelling contest to win over $150,000 (£95,213) in spend across its channels.
The Microsoft Advertising Story Awards requires marketers to devise a campaign for a brand or not-for-profit company of their choice that addresses a “key business challenge” for the 2012 or 2013 calendar year.
The winner of the global competition will win a VIP experience at Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity 2012. Local winners in each market will receive the media spend to bring the campaign to life across Microsoft channels such as MSN, Xbox and Windows Phone.
The competition aims to encourage marketers to think about how Microsoft properties can be used to solve real business challenges, judging the campaigns by the idea, rather than work that has been executed.
Andy Hart, general manager, Microsoft Advertising and Online UK, said, “The British advertising industry is the global centre of creative excellence. Our agencies are envied around the world. The creative prowess that our country possesses sets the standard around the world. We are extremely excited to be launching the Microsoft Advertising Story Awards and are confident that British agencies will once again show why we are the best in the business.”
Details on how and when to enter by are on the contest website.
