Mail Online has grown revenue by 77% over the past year and its global traffic reached 99m unique browsers in January, according to the publisher.
According to Daily Mail and General Trust’s (DMGT) interim results for the first quarter, Mail Online has seen revenues grow significantly. This has been boosted by its push into markets outside the UK, including the US and India.
According to the statement, Mail Online’s global traffic stood at 99m browsers in January (according to its Omniture data), a 77% increase on January 2011 and 15m more visitors than in December 2011.
The Mail Online is the most read UK newspaper online with just under 5m average unique daily browsers in December, according to its most recent ABC audit.
Revenue for DMGT hit £495m in total in the first quarter, with revenues from consumer media wing A&N Media reaching £272m.
Within A&N, total ad revenues at Associated Newspapers, which manages the Daily Mail, were down 2% but digital saw a 61% increase.
