Facebook may have mad a move closer to launching its long rumoured mobile payments service.

UK based mobile billing provider, Bango issued a very short statement announcing  that it has "signed an agreement to provide payment services to Facebook".

Facebook has long been expected to move into the mobile payments market, in order to link its own internal currency to a billing mechanism that the majority of its customers can access - namely carrier billing by their mobile network.

The statement added that the terms of this agreement are not being disclosed and that the Board believes it is too early in the relationship to accurately forecast the level of business which it may generate.
