CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL) on Wednesday announced that it won two task orders from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) through the General Services Administration's (GSA) Networx Enterprise contract vehicle.

Worth up to a total of $9.6 million over the next five years, the telco will provide the FCC with Wide Area Network (WAN) services, including private line services and Network-Based Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP/VPN) services. 

The WAN service task order is worth $6.99 million over the next five years with $1.23 million for the first year and $5.76 million over the remaining four years, if all four one-year options are exercised.  

In addition, the telco won a Managed Trusted Internet Protocol Services (MTIPS) task order with the agency, which was evaluated at $2.64 million over the next five years—$472,000 for the first year and $2.17 million over the following four years if all four one-year options are exercised.

The FCC said these contracts are being used to support a number of its major initiatives, including the implementation of its National Broadband Plan.

As of late, CenturyLink has been on a roll with Networx task orders, winning contracts with the GSA and the Social Security Administration.
